How to Capitalise Video for an Exhibition
Prologue… Starting your Video Journey to make you an Exhibition Super Hero
Picture the seen, you find your self at the Excel London, its November 22nd and you are at your stand at The Business Show…Awaiting the first potential client to visit, but how can you captivate them? What is your hook? How are you the super hero they didn’t know they needed?
Do not fear, Your Video Team are here!! We are your trusty sidekick in your very own super hero comic, offering you the advice, tips and ideas you can use to make the BOOMing impact needed with video content you can prepare, capture and share; before, during and after your exhibit.
Follow these steps, be the hero of your own story and make great connections along the way.
Tell Your Origin Story - Captivating Your Beginnings
Every story has an Origin, where you started before you became the hero you are today. Your origin story should be celebrated throughout your stand.
Take the time to create a showreel of your work in action. Demonstrate your services, show you and your team working on what you do best. Promoting a product? Share how and why you created this, let people see your product in action.
Showcase client stories, people you helped along the way. Let audiences see who you have worked with before, provide video testimonials that show what you offer really works and benefits so many people.
Prepare to be busy, answer questions using videos as an interactive call sheet. Allow people to visit and have their questions answered if you are busy.
These types of videos engage your audience as they connect with people you have helped before, building trust in you before you have started a conversation.
The Rising Action - Engaging the Audience
As people are being captivated by your video content, they will show some genuine reactions to the service or product you have to showcase… This is an opportunity.
A chance for you to capture your audiences reactions!
Set up cameras and microphones (lapel mics are great for this) in your stand. Have a team member there specifically to capture you. Put a phone on a tripod and film throughout the day. You cannot beat a genuine reaction from a person who is blown away by what you offer.
Not just that, it could be a chance to offer something a little different to your audience. Why not conduct an interview with people walking past, its a chance for them to tell you their story, what are their struggles and you can offer some great advice. Make them a main part of your hero story, create a video that you can share with them in an email and celebrate them in your content.
This could seem a little intrusive, but do not fear, we at your Video Team have covered many stands and networking events and this kind of live capture filming is a lot more accepted and in many cases, expected by people at these shows.
The Story Continues - Even After the Event
Now the event is over, you have spoken to hundreds, maybe thousands of potential clients and shared your brand and message but…
You are not done yet!! You have captured a whole events worth of footage, now is your time to embed your business into the memory of the people that saw you and stand out to the many new people on the internet who are looking for you, but just don’t know it yet!!!
How? By turning this content into captivating videos, start off by surfing the trend of the event. Create a highlight video, use the hashtags, tag the people who visited you and share share share. Not just that you had a lot of conversations, create short form content for TikTok, Reels and YouTube Shorts to get some great attention on you and your business. That’s not all, remember your interviews. The interviews that can be shared on LinkedIn, YouTube, Facebook or even your website maybe even a podcast. Long form content that really builds connections with your audience and getting them to really know, like and trust you which will lead to an eventual sale.
The footage you have captured on the day could provide you content for months maybe even years, you can repurpose this footage over and over again to reach new audiences, or look back on it years down the line and see how far you have come and while you are doing that why not create a react video too.
The Secret Video Ingredient to Truly be the Hero of the Exhibit
This is the true magic to your epic adventure with video content, the step you take to really show the people you met that you listened and care.
Create a video message, a message that says, “hello, we met, I think you are great and I want to help”. Here I am showing you I am here when you need me, my business, service or product. Include it in your reach out email and show your audience you are not just sending out a generic email that every other person at the show is getting. It may take a little bit of time creating individual videos, but after all the effort you put in at the show in starting to grow relationships, this is a powerful way of embedding them.
You are a business Super Hero
You made it, you got to the end of your epic video journey, you created some amazing content before the show to share your origin story, you stepped in to action and captured some amazing footage that has provided you with months of amazing video content and you implemented the Secret Ingredient to true success.
